The Chinese Culture Festival crosses boundaries to become a multinational event

The Finn-Sino Culture, Education and Technology Exchange Association will organize for the fourth time this fall a Chinese Culture Festival officially named Nordic Chinese Culture Festival 2007. The festival will take place in August and September of 2007.

The festival will include two free-of-charge main events on Aug. 31 in Helsinki and Sept. 1 in Tampere. The main event program includes something for the whole family, including spectacular performances, informative lectures and tea tastings, as well as a Chinatown market place.

The main performers at this year's festival are three internationally acclaimed artist groups which represent different aspects of the rich Chinese cultural heritage, ranging from age-old Kunqu Opera to modern dance and performance art. The groups will stage shows in Tampere, Helsinki and Turku. In addition, the festival includes Chinese movie week happenings and art and photo exhibitions.
