This year, the Nordic Chinese Culture Festival is proud to bring the performances of the acclaimed Beijing Modern Dance Company (BMDC) to our festival audiences. Founded in 1995, the group is one of the leading professional modern dance companies in China as well as internationally.

The versatile performances of the BMDC are a fusion of traditional Chinese culture and Western influences. In Tampere and Helsinki, the Company will perform a spectacle called China Vision, which is comprised of two separate dance acts. The different parts of the performance that combines modern dance and Chinese tradition draw on the themes of time, eternity and silence.

Dance critics and audiences all over the world have lauded the performances of the BMDC. The group's technical virtuosity and the simplistic beauty of the choreographies in particular have been the subject of considerable praise everywhere.
